Fitchburg Arts Community Receives Preservation Massachusetts Award

July 1, 2026

We are honored to share that the Fitchburg Arts Community was a recipient of the Preservation Massachusetts Mayor Thomas M. Menino Legacy Award. This prestigious recognition celebrates projects that are “transformative, catalytic, embrace the community, create partnerships, and revitalize the best of the past to make something good for the future.’’

NewVue’s Director of Housing Development Steve Cook attended the June 11th ceremony at Fenway Park with NewVue Real Estate Development Consultant Anne Reitmayer, and accepted the award along with Icon Architecture’s Joe Daigneault.

“This achievement stands as a powerful tribute to 13 years of unwavering dedication and commitment to this project,’’ Daigneault said.

State Sen. John Cronin submitted a letter of support for the project, which was highlighted on the Preservation Massachusetts Facebook page.

“The level of deterioration of the Fitchburg Arts Community buildings called for a very skilled team able to take on a project of this great scale and difficulty,’’ Cronin said. “The completed restoration is evidence of impressive partnerships every step of the way to what is now a beautiful campus that holds safely the character and design details of these historic buildings.”

Thank you to all our partners who made this project possible.
