Donuts with Delegates Event

NewVue staff met with members of the region’s legislative delegation last month to provide an overview of the work we do in the community and to share our policy and budget priorities for the year.
Thank you to our legislators for taking time out of their busy schedules to listen to our concerns and for their continued advocacy in support of issues that impact on our communities. Our legislative priorities this year are proposals that increase funding and access to affordable housing. Specific budget priorities include funding for small business technical assistance, homebuyer education and foreclosure prevention counseling, lead paint prevention and remediation, and the rental voucher program.
Our “Donuts with Delegates” event was also an opportunity for us to hear from our lawmakers, who shared an overview of their priorities and committee work – much of which overlaps well with our work at NewVue. Attendees included: Democratic Sen. John Cronin from Lunenburg; Democratic Reps. Natalie Higgins of Leominster; Michael Kushmerek of Fitchburg; and Meghan Kilcoyne of Northborough.
